Georgia head coach Kirri Smart said the team has been practicing how to deal with the noise. I wouldn’t not do that,“ he said. But he also acknowledged that it’s hard to say if the practice is actually working.
Georgia right guard Tate Rutledge said he’s glad the team is using noise in practice. He said, „I think it’s helpful. When you’re on the field, you’re not intimidated.“
Smart said offensive lineman Amarius Mims played well against Ole Miss on Saturday. Mims participated in part of Wednesday’s practice and is recovering from a high ankle sprain.
Smart also said defensive back Warren Brinson and wide receiver C.J. Smith missed Saturday’s game with injuries. Brinson is being treated for a calf injury and Smith is being treated for a knee injury.
Smart said the team’s practice Tuesday was less than ideal. He thinks it may have been due to the team’s two recent wins, which caused the players to slack off a bit.
Rutledge agreed with Smart. He said, „I thought practice was well planned, but I don’t think the players were as enthusiastic and excited as they have been in recent weeks.“
