British number one Katie Boulter fell to top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka in straight sets in her second round match at the Open.
Boulter fell to Australian Open champion Sabalenka 7-5 7-6 (7-2).
The 27-year-old Boult held serve for two sets despite leading 5-4.
Sabalenka, the runner-up at the US Open in September, rallied in the opening set before the Belarusian sealed the win with six straight points in the decider.
World No. 1 Sabalenka will face Italy’s Jasmine Paolini in the quarterfinals.
Elsewhere, American fourth seed Jessica Pegula rallied to beat Russia’s Anna Blinkova 6-7 (2-7) 6-2 6-1 to meet Latvia’s Jelena Ostapenko in the final.
World number two Iga Swiatek, third seed Coco Gauff and Wimbledon runner-up Ons Jabeur will also play on Tuesday.
